Thank you for your willingness to help us carryout our mission of helping our homeless brothers and sisters. We try our best to be a stepping stone to help empower them to change the trajectory of their lives. Our goal is to help them to regain their own independence.
16' box truck (used around $25-30,000) for picking up food donations, large donations for shelter, helping move clients into their new place and delivering furniture that we are able to obtain to furnish clients new place of they don't have anything.
12 passenger van (around $20,000 to go along with a donation from the LDS Church) this would be used for transporting clients to and from job fairs, employment, health appointments, or other special events)
$5-10,000 for kitchen repairs (approximately $5,000 for walk in freezer, $2,500 for new refrigerator, $1,000 to fix oven, and 3 under the counter microwaves $1-1,500) all needed for providing meals for clients
Meats, rice, beans, milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned vegetables, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, noodles, spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce, etc.
33 gallon trash bags, 10 gallon trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, bleach, pine sol, comet, Windex
shampoo and conditioner, shavers and shaving cream, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, etc.
Other ideas that would really help:
Toilet paper drive, can good food drive, hygiene drive for shampoo and conditioner, Deodorant, razors and shaving cream.
We also have like 10 HVAC units and I think only 2 of them work. I have no idea how much it would cost to get them fixed but it would really be nice to have heating and air conditioning. We do also use swamp coolers to help in the summer and need to replace 3 of them (they run about $650 each)
The shelter can always use bus passes for our clients to get to work, attend counseling programs, etc.
As always we accept monetary donations at all times. Donations of money, cleaning supplies, etc. are accepted anytime, 7 days a week — 24 hours a day!
